We are thrilled to share that our students had an incredible time participating in this year’s Spelling Bee! It was a fun, exciting, and challenging experience for everyone, and we couldn’t be prouder of how each student gave their best effort. You should be just as proud of them too!

A special congratulations goes out to Charlie Christofferson, Avyansh Ojha, and Eliana Choi, who will be representing Walnut Hills at the District Spelling Bee on Friday, January 31, 2025. Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off!

Once again, we are so proud of all our students for their outstanding effort, and we appreciate the support you’ve given them throughout this experience!

Our amazing teachers created school supply lists at the beginning of the year that they have since updated, and many have items listed that they’d love to receive and implement in the classroom. Walnut Hills’ annual Winter Game Night is officially scheduled for Friday, January 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. There will be free pizza and juice, Bingo with prizes, a scavenger hunt and more so make sure to save the date for one the funnest nights of the year!

We have another exciting Author Visit planned at Walnut Hills for January 14, 2025! Our 1st through 3rd grade students will be visited by Kentrell Martin. Kentrell is the author of the Shelly Goes book series. He will read one of his books with the students and include an interactive lesson in American Sign Language (ASL).

Students will learn around 40 ASL signs, including animal names, colors, numbers and greetings.

Growing up with a Deaf brother, Mr. Martin saw how the world viewed Deaf people. He created Shelly’s Adventure series as a company that will play a part in helping bridge the gap between the Deaf and the hearing worlds. Now he travels the country reading his books and teaching ASL to students.

We are very excited to host Kentrell Martin here at Walnut Hills!
